In warmer weather I find I crave a lot more fruit and cool, raw foods for breakfast over heavy porridges. What's a better start to your day than eating ice cream that's actually good for you!
So simple and easy to make in the mornings, using one base ingredient you can throw in anything you like making it so delicious and versatile. All you need to do is freeze bananas! Best when they are ripe to overripe and have those brown speckles, peel and slice then portion off into sandwich bags or tuppaware and pop in the freezer for a few hours or overnight. You'll then need a food processor or a strong blender, all you do is whiz the frozen banana slices with a bit of milk or water if you 'd like, until smooth! (Only takes a few minutes) I like to have 1 1/2 to 2 bananas per portion then when you want to whip up some banana 'nice' cream it's ready to go as a dessert, breakfast or healthy treat anytime. Here are some of my favourite added ingredients to make it a bit more exciting and different each time, although plain old banana on it's own is so yummy and when blended it up it is the exact consistency of normal ice cream - with none of the added cream or sugar!
